“How Much Should I Spend On My Facebook Ads?”

As someone who does Facebook Advertising for others, this question comes up a lot.

And it’s totally understandable.

If something seems like a black hole, we’re not exactly thrilled to throw money into it.

But here’s the thing…

A Facebook Ad Campagin is one of the best educations money can buy.

Seriously.

I’ve known plenty of coaches, course creators and online business owners who’ve spent thousands (sometimes tens of thousands and more) on courses and education.

But spending even a fraction of that to get real insight from the market?

Suddenly it’s penny pinching time.

Here’s the thing about Facebook ads…

There’s literally never been a better time to be a business owner who cares about your customers and clients.

Before the internet and platforms like Facebook and Google, you had to use old school methods.

If you think $50/day on Facebook ads is expensive…

Try $6,000+ for just one focus group.

Where customers might be honest and self-aware.

…Or they might just tell you what you want to hear (but not what they’d do in real life)

If you want to know whether an offer is going to work…

Or a piece of copy…

Or which segment of your market is most responsive…

You can find out for pennies on the dollar of what it used to cost.

And the data you get back is reliable.

Because you can see right away if real people in your market convert into leads and buyers.

Without wasting weeks or months before you find out if it’s working or not.

People sitting in an artificial environment promising that they’d buy something isn’t the same as them buying.

Them actually buying the thing is real.

And you get that with Facebook.

It either works. Or it doesn’t.

And because it’s all digital and fully trackable, you can see where the sticking points are.

Are they not clicking the ads?

Are they getting to the order form but not placing the order?

With that knowledge in hand, you can make smart, strategic decisions.

Without needing to blast a bunch of marketing into the world, hoping at least some of it works.

Here’s an example…

I’ve been running FB ads to my client’s quiz for about a year now.

Side note: Quizzes are a fantastic way to grow a list of customers.

This particular quiz pays for itself within 7 days with front-end purchases. And everything else (like the dozens of new 1-to-1 clients) is pure profit.

Anyway…

Because we were able to get enough data and see results quickly, we realized only 20% of the people who went through the quiz were entering their email to see their quiz results.

So we tested a couple things…

And took that 20% to 65%.

Which made a HUGE difference.

But had we waited for a tiny trickle of “organic” traffic to tell us how the quiz was doing?

Probably still be waiting here a year later…

Instead, that quiz has generated well over 900 customers for my client.

Facebook Ads are the most cost-effective learning there is.

And rather than a diploma or some certificate, the reward is a huge influx of buyers and attention for your business.

Because when you get it right…

When you take all that learning and put it to work…

You control the river that brings in customers and clients on-demand.

And your business is transformed.

So…

If you’re wondering how much ads are going to cost…

The question you may want to ask instead, is…

How fast do I want to learn?

P.S. I’m not saying investing in courses or education is bad. Not at all!

But at a certain point, it’s important to get real insights back from your market.

No course or program can tell you with 100% certainty how you should best position your product or service.

Your customers and clients will vote with their time, attention and wallets.

Everything else is just guessing.
